Passive voice: The subject of the sentence has been acted upon.
Recommended: The editor published the articles.
Not recommended: The articles was published by the editor.
Words like “was” and “by” may indicate that you are writing in passive voice. Check for these words in your document and rephrase the occurrences, if required.
One exception is when you want to specifically emphasize the action over the subject. In such cases, it is good to write in passive voice.
For example, Your account was blocked by our security team.
